15 Oct Secret Knitting…..
This year has been one of doing more ‘secret’ projects than self-published ones for me. I’ve been fortunate to have several submissions accepted. While knitting for publishers is fun & rewarding-I can’t share any details about the projects until the publisher releases the book/mag/pattern.
I can share some teaser photos-no details-though! So here are a couple for designs that are coming out soon.
This first photo is a project using Malabrigo Sock yarn. I had not previously had the experience of knitting with Malabrigo (do have some in stash but haven’t knit it yet), and I can tell you I LOVE this yarn. There will be more projects in my future using Malabrigo. Anyhow, here’s a teaser photo – this design will be in a book that I believe is to be released at the end of October….
And in keeping with the ‘green’ theme-this second design is scheduled to be release in the Jan 2011 issue of Creative Knitting. This project was actually done before the Malabrigo one, although in the world of designing for publishers there is always some overlap. In this photo you can see how nicely the Cascade 220 Superwash I used worked up. I’ve always liked Cascade’s yarns and the 220 Superwash is one of my favorite ‘staple’ yarns.
So there’s a couple of ‘teasers’ for you. I still, and probably always will, find myself getting excited when a new design release is near. I love to see how the design has been styled & photographed, and like most designers, I love to see how the project is received.
And speaking of how projects are received-I heard from the editor of “The Perfect Finish” that the book is already in it’s second printing! That’s awesome for a book released just a couple of months ago. You can still enter to win a copy of this book-just subscribe to my blog by Oct 30th-the winner will be announced on Oct 31st.
And with that I will leave you with Cheers!, and have a wonderful day. 🙂 Jean
