01 Jul Do you remember back in January…..
when I first introduced “Irish Shoal Socks“? My original post is Here in case you missed it. Well, it’s six months later and I am pleased to announce that I am now able to offer Irish Shoal Socks for sale on my web site.
Sharon, with Three Irish Girls, tells me that Irish Shoal Socks is in the top 1/3 of all the patterns she sells – woohoo. And you can still buy Irish Shoal Socks from her, along with the Carys BFL yarn to knit them with.
There are two things that make this sock pattern unique from others – one is the lace pattern – you won’t find it anywhere else since it’s of my own devising, and because the lace pattern is so stretchy – the leg is knit with only 48 sts! Which also makes this pattern one really quick knit, and it fits a foot circumference between 7 1/2 & 8 1/2 inches.
The leg pattern is charted only, but is really easy to do. If you have not worked from charts before Irish Shoals Socks would be a good introduction. These socks are a good choice for summer socks since the lace allows your skin to ‘breath’ and that keeps your feet cooler.
I hope you’ll give Irish Shoal Socks a try – and of course my other sock patterns too. Here are a couple photos of Irish Shoal Socks for you….
Enjoy this wonderful Thursday!
Cheers! Jean
