27 Mar Aspen Whispers Scarf welcomes spring…
Sometimes a design comes together exactly as envisioned in my head…like Aspen Whispers Scarf did. My newest pattern just seemed to knit itself!
It all started with a single skein of Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere, in a lovely shade of Spring Tickle. And a small grove of Aspen trees in front of my home..beautiful trees that seem to ‘whisper’ when a breeze gently rustles the leaves.
Aspen Whispers Scarf features two different yet similar lace borders..top and bottom..each inspired by the gentle Aspen leaves. The soft crescent shape easily wraps & stays where you put it, and allows for versatility in styling..as does the generous length. A light and fabulous drape is achieved by using a needle size larger than suggested for this yarn.
Beginning lace knitters will enjoy the simplicity of the pattern while the more experienced knitter will enjoy the rhythm of a design that is easily memorized. The Smooshy with Cashmere is a ‘dream’ to knit with, although pretty much any sock or fingering weight yarn is suitable for Aspen Whispers Scarf.
This is a scarf I find myself wanting to wear often…and I think you will too.
Happy Knitting ~ Jean
