12 Jan Alacali ~ A Scarf for All Seasons…..
Winter weather has really taken hold here in Colorado…so staying warm is at the top of everyone’s list. Alacali Scarf will help keep your neck warm, whether as an fashion accent or under your coat collar.
Newly released, this pattern is fun & easy to knit. Alacali is a great project for that single skein of luxury yarn, or left overs from other projects. I knit the sample scarf with about 180 yds of left over sock yarn, in bright & wild colors that my SIL loves (Christmas gift). The simple lace pattern will look good in any color though.
You can knit Alacali as long as you like or as wide as you like ~ just work more pattern repeats for length and add stitch count repeats for width. Or try it in a sport or DK weight yarn. This is a project that is very adaptable.
Alacali is also fun & easy to style…wearing options are only limited by your imagination. I like the “necklace” look for a fashion accent, and just wrapped for going outside. What is your favorite way to wear a scarf?
Happy Knitting ~ Jean
P.S. – thank you to my lovely friend Lorien for being such a good model, and a good sport about it. 🙂
