06 Jul After the 4th………….
Well, it feels like it’s been a long holiday and yet a short one. It was a pretty quiet on in our household. DH was playing with the Canon camera – here’s some pics he took of wildflowers in our yard.
We did a little shopping, bought a new gas grill – and relaxed. Since we had clear evening skies we were able to see the city fireworks from our deck. So we sat on our bench and enjoyed the show.
On the knitting front – leg warmer test knitting is going well. I have the basics of a couple more projects outlined and will be starting the actual work on them soon. In the meantime, I’ve been knitting a pair of socks for me – yeah! They are just plain, everyday socks – a quick knit, and I’m making the leg shorter than I usually do so the socks won’t show over the tops of my cowboy boots. I wear my boots frequently with my slacks, jean, long skirts – you get the picture. The yarn I’m using is Reynolds Swizzle that I had purchased a while back. Between the left over from this skein and from a skein of gray Swizzle I should have enough to make a second pair for me. Sometimes little feet can be a good thing.
I’ll also be working on the Pattern page for my blog this week. And am considering listing a couple patterns on Patternfish. This is a new site just for selling patterns. It looks interesting.
That’s about it for today – need to go finish my socks 🙂
Cheer! Jean
